Program notes | Interview with Laura Ahlbeck
David Feltner and the Chamber Orchestra of Boston present “Full Circle,” the final concert of the season. Highlights of this intriguing program include an appealing work by the American composer Kenji Bunch, and a virtuoso performance by oboist Laura Ahlbeck, joining the COB in Penderecki’s fascinating Capriccio.

Music Director David Feltner says: “This concert is about our country, society and culture. Through the Chamber Orchestra’s signature combination of modern American and timeless classical repertoire, we’ll musically confront the challenges we face and celebrate the spirit of hope.”
The Chamber Orchestra will open the evening with modern American composer Kenji Bunch’s salute to the vibrant pluralism that makes us great. In the music that follows, we’ll acknowledge the pain of these troubled times (Penderecki’s Capriccio). We’ll ponder the relationships, values and institutions that give us strength (Copland’s Nonet). The evening will culminate with a celebration of the human spirit, J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3.
Please join us for an unforgettable evening of music that fires the imagination and speaks to the soul.
