Franz Schubert: Octet

Bohuslav Martinu: Nonet

The season opened with melodious music for woodwinds and strings. Franz Schubert was one of the greatest songwriters in classical music, and his Octet is filled with glorious tunes. Martinu’s charming Nonet explores folksong of his native Czechoslovakia. And we gave the Boston premiere of Daniel Kellogg’s beautiful Suite for Eleven Players.
